Rekindling Hope
At More Than A Roof Housing Society, we believe that true wellness begins with a stable place to call home.
For over four decades, we have been a trusted provider of affordable, inclusive, and community-focused housing across British Columbia.
At More Than A Roof we don’t just hand over a set of keys, we “do life” with our tenants, building safe, diverse environments where individuals can stabilize, reclaim their peace of mind, and actively work toward their life goals. Whether you are building a stepping stone to what comes next or planting deep roots for the long term, we are here to support your journey.
Rekindling Community
At More Than A Roof, community isn’t just a word; it’s the foundation of who we are.
JK Tower is built for connection, inviting neighbourly interactions, places to unwind, and intentional features that help you manage your daily routines with ease. We’ve designed community features around this philosophy:
Indoor Community Room & Patio
Your built-in neighbourhood hub. Perfect for morning coffee, hosting family gatherings, or letting the kids find playmates on a rainy afternoon.
Pet-Friendly Living
We know that pets are family, too. One companion dog or cat is warmly welcomed on designated floors (subject to standard restrictions).
On-Site Convenience
Skip the trip to the laundromat with clean, coin-operated laundry facilities located right inside the building. Secure underground paid parking and bike lockers are also available to keep your transport safe and dry.
Budget-Friendly Extras
Hot water is included in your rent, giving you greater monthly financial predictability.
Unique Qualifications FAQ
What does Affordable Market Rent (AMR) rent mean?
Affordable market rents are capped below standard private market rates to ensure they remain truly affordable for everyday singles, seniors, and families. At JK Tower, these rent rates are fixed and subject to standardized annual increases.
What are the income qualifications to live here?
To ensure these affordable homes go to those who need them most, households must meet annual income-testing requirements. Your gross annual household income must fall below the following limits:
- Studio & 1-Bedroom units: Maximum gross income of $90,560
- 2-Bedroom & 2-Bedroom + Den units: Maximum gross income of $146,270.
How is the appropriate apartment size determined for my family?
We closely follow the National Occupancy Standards to match households with the ideal apartment size. This ensures that individuals, seniors, and families are all placed in homes that safely and comfortably accommodate their needs.
Does submitting an application guarantee me a home?
While we wish we could house everyone, submitting an application is not a guarantee of placement. We carefully review every application against our criteria to build a balanced, safe, and supportive multi-generational community.
Are utilities included in the rent?
Hot water is included in your monthly rent. Residents are responsible for their own BC Hydro, cable and internet.
